I believe in dependent origination, more commonly known as radical interdependence in philosophical terms, meaning nothing exists without everything else. After a severe auto accident, I was placed in a ballet class to help heal a complicated spinal cord injury. I began a long relationship with movement; therapy turned career within a few short years. With my origins deeply rooted in classical ballet, life around me begged I use ballet in new and far less traditional ways. I found movement was a language non-dancers knew also. Movement was in space, in our blood, spread all the way across the globe, and back into our earliest human ways. The particulars of my art stand quietly next to my main objective: Let movement be a way of upholding dignity and hearing each other, unencumbered by semantics.
